About the Challenger Tour

The ATP Challenger Tour is the springboard to fame for the future stars of professional tennis. Since its inception in 1978, the competition at this level has been intense. Players compete for critical ATP Rankings points at these tournaments, which give fans the excitement of watching world-class tennis in a more intimate atmosphere. Furthermore, by providing opportunities for young players to develop their talents, the Challenger Tour ensures the continued success of professional tennis and the growth of the ATP Tour.

As Cleveland's longest active professional tennis tournament, the Cleveland Open aims to bring world-class professional men's tennis to one of Cleveland's most historic racquet clubs. The tournament is run by Cleveland-based Topnotch Management, a boutique sports agency that also owns and operates a number of professional sporting events in the U.S. including, Tennis in the Land, Squash in the Land, and the Dow Tennis Classic.
